B A S K E TB ALL The 2003 Grammar Basketball season once again proved to be a most successful and enjoyable one. While the season was peppered with wins and losses, the enthusiasm generated and dedication displayed reflected a highly successful season. Like most sports at Brisbane Girls Grammar School, Basketball has continued to grow since its commencement in 1996 This Year, with the addition of a second Senior A team, there was a record number of ninety girls representing the School in the aGSSSA competition. After seven weeks of training, the season began with our first round of games against the very tough competition from Brisbane State High School. The aGSSSA opposition again proved to be tough. All teams noted how strong other schools were, and this led to some very exciting basketball games. Final results saw Grammar achieve one premiership. the 10B team remaining undefeated for the season The 10As played well, only losing one game this season. against their greatest rivals More ton Bay College. The Open team experienced a most challenging season. This team came away with a fourth placing, losing to State High, St Peters and More ton Bay College However, the team continued to display great skill and spirit throughout the season, despite the challenges with which they were faced The BBI Championship Season saw Brisbane Girls Grammar School enter two teams, an Under 16 and an Under 18. These teams were a combination of aGSSSA players, former players and new players' With competitions held on Friday evenings and Saturdays throughout Terms 11 and 111, girls

continued to remain committed and enthusiastic even in the face of defeat. All players are to be congratulated on how they played basketball with enjoyment, commitment and a high level of sportsmanship.
