CROSS COUNTRY
T his year was an interesting and exciting year for Cross Country. Training began in Term 1 and well done to all the girls who got up early two to three times a week for the morning training sessions with our coaches. By Term 3 we had trained hard and had enjoyed plenty of fun times readying ourselves for competition. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 the QGSSSA Cross Country Championships could not be held, but our coaches were proactive in finding another competition for us to participate in. Many girls from the team
FENCING C participated in the Queensland Athletics competition, which was a combination of 3km and 4km races across five weekends. A number of girls also competed at the State Championships. As a team we proved that with hard work you can achieve anything and we had a great time together. Despite our disrupted season we all put in the effort to prove that we could, as our coach says, ‘be comfortable with being uncomfortable’. Bring on 2021! Audrey Duffield (7W)
D espite the challenges 2020 has presented, our fencers have had a great year. When the fixtures were cancelled due to COVID-19 everyone continued to attend training sessions and work hard, showing their love for the sport. While we may not have been able to win medals and certificates, we have become stronger, more resilient fencers. We have worked together and continued to move forward, staying true to the spirit of Fencing. Caitlyn Bond (12H) and Ashley Zhang (12O) CAPTAINS
