B.G.G.S. Swimming Team, 1985
SWIMMING REPORT- 1985 1985 was meant to be " THE YEAR" - alas this was not the case. This did not mean we did not put our "ALL'' into it. As always, we started our school training in january- with good intentions and hard work. School commencing late and power strikes did not help our bid for victory. Only one carnival prior to Q.G.S.S.S.A. made it difficult to select the team. When Saturday, 9th March arrived, everyone was ready to give their all- and they did. We may have come 4th, but our spirit and enthusiasm was there. To all who swam, whether you came 1st, or 9th, sincere thanks for your great effort. We are sure everyone - swimmers, cheer squad and supporters will be 100% behind us when we say our biggest thanks must go to our Head Coach, Mr Emery, whose dedication , support and all round enthusiasm, make some of us " perform" in a way that we never have before. Miss Roden, our special thanks to you: we hope the early morning will not deter you for 1986.
Congratulations to our representative swimmers this year, Sheridan Scriven, Lisa Tonelli, julie Horgan, jenny Hassell, Catherine Neville, Cathy Taylor and Rena Deily. This list is growing and this can only give our team greater depth and experience. Now, Mr E.- remember at the party a certain "Carl " gave you a gift, we never did see you try them on!!! And remember Coleslaw is not coleslaw without "Lebanese Cucumber"! Really Lisa S. -a Year 12 Student with cake al l over your face was not a good example for the younger gir ls!!
Our sincere thanks to the Year 12 students who did so much for us in our absence. ยท
To the 1986 Captain and Team, may we wish you every success.
