1985 School Magazine

Helen Legg and Vicki Lain organised a display for this year's School Day which featured a large map of Queensland showing the distribution of girls in the Boarding School. It was of great interest to many people, as were the well- conducted tours of the residential facilities. The students raised a large sum of money from these tours and this will go towards the purchase of an iced water cooler for use during the hot summer months ahead. During the recent Live Aid Concert, the boarders raised money as a donation from the Boarding House to help support those less fortunate than themselves. The Year 77 boarders who are involved in the Integrated Studies Programme, are actively involved in all programmes associated with the course. They have developed more confidence since their participation and were recently involved in a Work Experience programme during which some of the girls were offered permanent positions. This group of students is also involved with the Windsor division of " Meals on Wheels " and their contribution in this area of community service is much appreciated. I would like to take this opportunity to express my thanks to all the Boarding House staff for the help and guidance they give to the girls during the year and the support that they give to the total school. This is only a brief summary of some of the activities in which students in the Boarding House have been involved, but I am sure that everyone will agree that the girls who live on the premises take advantage of all the opportuniti es offered to enrich their lives.

THANK YOU GIRLS FOR YOUR CONTRIBUTION TO SCHOOL Ll FE.
