VOLLEYBALL REPORT The 1985 Volleyball season proved to be an enjoyab le one for all involved. just after the Easter break, we started training for the season, under the expert guidance of our coach, Miss Dempsey. This ear ly start, plus two pre-season victories over Fairholme of Toowoomba and Chevalier College from Bowral N.S.W. , placed us in a very promising position for the Q.G.S.S.S.A. compet ition . The nine week season saw a few aches and pa ins (e.g. Peta's knee) , many victories, a few defeats, lots of enthusiasm and improvement in our skills. All teams played extreme ly well, and this was shown in the final results which were: A GRADE -Third The Brisbane Regional Volleyball Competition was held, and our B.G.G.S. A Grade team was entered. The A Grade team won the Regional Competition in grand style, (especia lly against MacGregor) , by defeating every team 2-0. The team then went into the State Championships. Although we were defeated in both matches, it was a worthwhile experience for us. The 1985 Volleyball season was overall, very successful and most enjoyab le. Congratulations to all the players for their fine efforts throughout the season . On behalf of all the girls, I would like to thank those who came and supported us. An especially big " thank you " must go to Miss Dempsey for giving up so much of her time to coach us and for her boundless enthusiasm and her undying support. B GRADE - Second C GRADE - Eighth
