I had several preconceptions about this camp, such as boats constantly capsizing and being hungry all the time. These soon turned into misconceptions. I struggled with the paddling and the cooking yet over the week grew more confident and found these things pleasurable. During this journey my self-esteem grew and I am therefore more self-assured.

The Stainford Challenge High Ropes was a highlight of the trip as it involved a lot of team work and determination. Campout was fun and it was an amazing experience sitting on the jetty next to the dark blue water of the Noosa River, looking up into the star speckled sky KATHERINE BUTCHER (10M)

The trip up to the sand patch for sunrise was, although quite cold and dark, an amazing experience and definitely worth the effort. While canoeing we worked on our technique which proved to be beneficial as towards the second half of the trip we were able to paddle across the lake efficiently whilst enjoying the beautiful scenery and serenity of the area. I was originally opposed to the idea of camping. .. Initially it was difficult to remember previous camping techniques and we struggled to get into a rhythm. Throughout the few days, we not only pushed the boundaries physically but also mentally and emotionally. We had to deal with a variety of personalities and people. Even though I was constantly out of my comfort zone, I felt as if I grew stronger and more mature.

This week was really hard but so worth it in the end. Some sore muscles and a few scratches but after you finish you are so glad you stuck it out to the end and didn't give up. EMMA DE LACY (10L)
