Ivg Shambitt and the Sound Machine - unior Drama Ensemble lake off your bindfo/ds if you please
ivy Shambitt was an eye-opening experience Our tireless director Mrs RiverOS stressed the need to "keep an open mind" as to what might be possible and united us as a team as she enthusiastically encouraged us to take risks, support others, explore the possibilities, push the boun 5;ies and^bove all, enjoy the experience The setting is the mystical world of Apronwood, "a superficial town of social hierarchies, stylish tea parties and snobby bake-offs". Apronwood's mothers and their daughters dress in matching colours and popularity 15 one of the most valued pursuits for those in this community. Ivy Shambitt, (Harriet Loinas) "had no eyes (not one I) and therefore: no sight! " She cannot speak but communicates through magical Iars of sound that can also make dreams come true for Apronwood's residents. But all is not what it seems as the bullying turns to manipulation and exploitation of Ivy for financial gain, eventually leading to a shocking Iy revengeful end The set design built the world of the play successfully and ranged from the kooky and complicated to the simple yet effedive. These creations were predominantly inspired from the imagination of Mrs RiverOS, designed by Ms Hollie and built by Mr Vogler. The lighting design by Mr David Morton from the Dead Puppets Society, the sound design by Mr Rouse and the musical collaborations organised by Mr Pennay set the mood, timing and feel of the play and assisted the actors and complemented the sets in the words of a fellow thespian, Marilyn Monroe: Everyone's a star and deserves the right to twinkl
