Grammar Dance
In 2011, Grammar Dance found Its feet, establishing Itself as a valuable part of the Girls Grammar co- curricular programme. Dance instructors All Phillips and Rachel Ward, with the help of co- obinator Mrs RiverOS, have worked hard to expand this relatively new group, offering three classes: Contemporary, Hip Hop and Mixed Styles This has enabled more girls with differing dance experience to participate in the group. in 2011, girls sampled myriad dancing styles, honing skills such as core strength, turns and aerials. Our performance on Open Day was a great success, attracting many fervent supporters The friendships forged between the dancers across Year levels have been invaluable, particularly for the younger girls. We have been able to share our joint enthusiasm for dance and have worked together to improve our performances. Grammar Dance has been a relaxed and enjoyable way to exercise our passion for dance at Grammar and we look forward to showcasing our work to the rest of the School

Bu toLun - Senior Drama Coinpong
The boisterous, wonderful and slightly absurd world of Bustown offered a refreshing refuge from the stresses of senior school life. Immersing myself In a PIethora of beautifully misshapen characters, an unfamiliar dialect and a fractured sideshow alley- style set proved a challenging yet highly rewarding adventure The complexity and conflicting values of the characters soon posed a challenge to the cast. To truly connect with our characters, we were very lucky to attend a workshop with the playwright, Lachlan Philpott. Mr Philpott ensured he left Interpretation of the script and character construct to the cast, providing us only with the tools we needed to find meaning in our work Without doubt, the most exciting part of the production was witnessing Bustown come to life in the design process. Through the artistic eye of our designer, the chaos, incongruity and amusement of Bustown was fashioned. I particularly enjoyed the two suspended black tyres upon which the punkbirds perched as they fascinated and terrified the audience with their spooky, cat-like contact lenses Opening night was met with enthusiasm as the cast and crew had dedicated enormous amounts of time and effort to ensure a polished, theatrical experience. The masterful combination of the set, lighting, costumes and of course the tireless efforts of our director Ms Martin, formulated a truly memorable production Bustown was the highlight of my senior year
