two very interesting and amusing talks bv John Manifold. All other talks arranged were cancelled at the last mofnent, unfor- tunately. This yeat, we have been fortunate enough to have enough money to have been able to buy a tape recorder, Uh er 7 24L Stereo, and a microphone, which was very useful for the concert. \7e hoped to do radio plavs on this, but found it difficult to record because of the noise. \X/e have also got a distinctive gold mask badge, following the lines of the ancient Greek masks, where drama first rose to a hish social importance. Many of the members of the club took part in items of the School Concert held at the Brisbane State High School Hall earlier this year, This in part compensated for our not being able to put on a play of our own. \fle r,vould like to congratulate all those who took paft in it, and especially Drew Zafr, who so kindly helped Rachel Callaghan v'ith the - lighting and consequentli did rnost of this side of the Concert as Rachel was involved with the sound effects. \fle aIL enjoyed these two evenings very much. The planned combined play with Brisbane Grammar this year unfortunately had to be cancelled because of such a uorffded school timetable, but v/e hope that next year it will be held. \ile would like to thank Mrs. Knight who has helped this yeffi with the Club, and other members of staff who have encouraged our efforts through the year ' Good luck in the future RACHEL 'ALLAGHAN. SCFTOON. CE{OIR NOTES This year, although our numbers have been small, the SchooJ. Choir has enjoyed gathering each Monday lunch-time and' singing together. \7e took pafi in the School Concert and sang "The Music Makers" by Martin Shav,r and "Come, Let Us all, a Maying Go" bv Handel. \7e also took paft in the musical programme on School Day, singing the popular Seekers' hit, "Georgie Girl" by Tom Springfield, and' '1The Dancing Elves" by Tschaikowsky. Even though other activities have often prevented our members from attending, we have enjoyed our singing under Miss Edmonds guidance, and thank her for giving up her time. \7e also thank our pianists Jeanette Howman and Laurel Richards. I wish next year's School Choir the best of luck, and hope rnore girls will show interest in singing and join this pleasant grou' RossLYN PASHEN.
