YEAR 11 INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SYSTEMS
This new skill was first introduced when we were instructed to develop a website for our client and to have it respond to both desktop and mobile screens. Working with a client has been such a great learning experience, which I know, will be helpful for my time after school. Information Technology Systems has made my passion for Information Technology grow and made me want to go outside my comfort zone to create some more
Information Technology Systems is a highly engaging and fun-filled subject at Brisbane Girls Grammar School. Each unit that we have completed has been really interesting and challenging to learn. One area that isn’t studied in Years 7 to 10, is video development and editing. Our project in Term I was to create an explainer video. In Term II we also continued from our web development unit in Year 10, to learning more advanced skills and theory. The project in Term III was the start of when senior ITS differs from junior IT subjects. We learned the process of working with a client.

YEAR 12 INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SYSTEMS
Studying ITS as a senior student this year has been a highly rewarding and exciting experience, making it by far one of my favourite courses in the senior curriculum. The ITS syllabus gives you the ability to explore aspects of your own creativity, while using critical thinking skills to problem solve and create innovative and individual products. This year we have had the opportunity
to produce our own mobile web app focusing on a particular aspect of Brisbane Girls Grammar School. From Houses, to sports, and even to the café, a plethora of inventive apps were designed and created. As part of this process we also had the opportunity to create a video, pitching our application before we commenced development of our minimal viable products — MVPs — to develop some basic entrepreneurial skills. Additionally, we’ve created our own personalised e-portfolios and are currently in the process of designing and creating infographics as our final assessment piece. Personally, I find that nothing compares to the feeling of finally completing a piece of ITS assessment — seeing all of your hard work come together in one final product is truly rewarding — especially when you’ve overcome a multitude of challenges along the way. Overall, I would highly recommend ITS to all girls who have both an interest in design and technology and
