Chess and Games Club

The Chess and Games Club aims to unite students over a shared passion for one activity— games. Whether it be a simple card game, a long and elaborate bout of chess, or an ongoing campaign of Dungeons and Dragons (DnD) , the Chess and Games Club allows students to indulge their passion for games every Thursday lunchtime.

My time at the Chess and Games Club is often spent sharing my love of DnD with others; helping new players construct their characters, and starting my own campaign entitled The Reinvention of the Owlbear Inn and Eatery . The Chess and Games Club has always been a way for me to teach and learn about my hobby with other like minded individuals, which is what drew me to the Club in 2023. Since then, with the help of our coordinators, Ms Emily Frazer and Mr Steven Van der Ros, attendance has been booming, with attendees eager to play games and learn together. It was so exciting to run an Open Day stall for the Club with some friends, and I can’t wait to see how the Club grows and develops more in 2025. Remy Kalinin (10H)
