Year 7 Program: Thrive

Marrapatta was such a fun experience. It was so great to get to know more people in my House Group that I wouldn't usually talk to. My favourite thing was definitely the sugar glider—it felt like I was flying! It was also so relaxing to spend a week away from a screen with only nature. Advice I would give is to try new things because you won't regret it and otherwise you will be missing out on a lot of fun. Overall, Marrapatta was such a fun experience and I am so excited for the

Year 8 program. Libby Chang (7L)

My experience at Marrapatta was both challenging and rewarding. The theme– Thrive —really resonated with me, as it was about growing beyond my comfort zone and embracing new challenges. Spending time in nature allowed me to disconnect from everyday distractions and focus on personal growth. One highlight was overcoming physical challenges that I didn't think I could handle, which boosted my confidence. Brooke Wetherell (7H) The theme Thrive , mostly focuses on resilience, teamwork and having a go. My highlight from the program would probably be the hike to Bella Junction especially having to cross the creeks and rivers. I gained a deeper understanding of my strengths as the program allowed me to test my social and emotional skills. Seerit Singh (7M) Marrapatta is a really fun way to be with your classmates and friends but away from the regular School campus. My personal highlight from Marrapatta was Team Challenge Day—it’s an awesome way to find strengths within your group and work together to solve problems. Some advice I would give to a future BGGS student at Marrapatta would be to be open to everything and don’t make your mind up about the activity before you have tried it. Also, bring wipes for the campout!! Bodiel Hill (7L)
