Open Day
Year 7 Open Day is a super exciting event where everyone at our school comes together to celebrate and showcase what makes our school great. It’s a fantastic chance for us to welcome new students and their families and give them a peek into what our school is all about. We get to share fun activities and show why we’re proud to be part of this school. We both helped out in the Year 7 stall, which was so exciting to meet all the incoming Year 7s. Some highlights of the night were eating at all the different House food stands and watching friends’ performances. Open Day is a great way for all of us to feel more connected and excited about our school community!

Year 10 Open Day is a magical experience and makes Term 3 the most anticipated of the year. As lights are spread across balconies and trees, excitement and school spirit fills the air. Open Day not only introduces everyone to the varied experiences that our school offers but also demonstrates the open and welcoming community. Prospective parents, current and hopeful students, old girls and teachers alike come together to celebrate the staff, students and parents that contributed. Whether you listen to Ms Euler Welsh speak, talk to our Enrolments team, take a tour or eat the delicious food, Open Day displays the inclusive and inviting community of BGGS and the camaraderie and kind, giving spirit of the Grammar girl. The aim of our Open Day is to embody the vibrant spirit of exploration and learning that we feel everyday within our white picket fence—where our questions are answered, life-long friends are made, and our aspirations get closer and closer to reality. Year 12 Attending my last Open Day as a BGGS student this year was an experience I will cherish. As the sun set, the School came alive under the glow of fairy lights, which added to the vibrant energy of the event. Like many others, my first stop was the Hirschfeld House stall to grab some potatoes, a nostalgic favourite. One highlight was cheering on my talented friends as they performed one of their last musical pieces. Visiting every food stall was a must—from the Father’s Day BBQ stall to baked goods. Working at an information stall was particularly poignant; seeing new girls with so many questions reminded me of my own journey from five years ago. The art installations were a constant source of awe, showcasing the hidden talents among my peers. Catching up with friends on the pool lawn, indulging in strawberries and ice cream while lounging on cozy rugs and pillows, was the perfect way to end the night. This night was a memorable and fitting farewell to my time at Girls Grammar, but I know I will be back next year! Tiffany Chen (12W)
