On Saturday 20 July, BGGS and BGS students traded in their uniforms for the night, ready for the most-anticipated event of the year: Year 11 Charity Social. The Grand Chancellor Hotel was transformed into our chosen theme— Ocean's 11 —with red carpets and a decked-out Ballroom. With sparkling diamonds, card games galore, and a groovy glowing ‘Welcome to-Brisvegas’ sign, we paid homage to the classic film. Students donned their finest attire and enjoyed an evening of excitement, celebration, and fun. Alongside BGS, the event raised money for the VacSeen Program—a charity started by BGGS alumnae, Lili Wackwitz (2016)—which provides flu vaccines for Brisbane’s most vulnerable. A massive thanks to our coordinators, Mrs Alice Dabelstein and Mrs Violet Ross, and all the staff who made this night possible. With the lights, food, music, and laughter bringing us all together, there isn’t anywhere else we would have rather been—it was truly a night to remember!
