Bi-Grammar
game day finally came around, the girls were primed to take on the boys; from enthusiastic school war cries to bright blue face paint and pom poms—our sea of blue was unmatched. Whilst BGS, unfortunately, took out the win for Touch Football, BGGS put themselves back in the competition following a heated face-off on Grammar history at the Trivia event. After entering the Netball decider round tied one for one, BGGS ultimately clinched the well-deserved victory with a final score of 32-31. There is no doubt that the seniors thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to celebrate their last year of school by supporting the sisterhood and creating friendships next door. The infamous Bi-Grammar rivalry certainly lived up to its reputation this year, with Year 12 students from Brisbane Girls Grammar School and Brisbane Grammar School going head to-head for the highly coveted prize of bragging rights. The three rounds of this year’s Bi-Grammar showdown— Touch Football, Trivia, and Netball—saw the best of our cohort’s athletic and scholastic talents. Organised by student-led committees from both schools, Bi-Grammar provides Year 12 students with the opportunity to display their bluest School spirit. Even before the competition formally began, the girls’ energy was through the roof thanks to our hype video featuring special appearances from the School Captains of other schools, the Queensland Reds, and of course, Mr Stephen Fogarty. goes to Margot Wallwork (7M) and Rihanna Malik (8L) for their standout performances, coming close to achieving a hat-trick. Together, through our collective efforts, we were able to raise $1174. This remarkable achievement was made possible by the dedication of our coordinator, Mrs Emily Levett, the hard work of the P&F Association, and the invaluable support of all cricket parents and families. Wednesday 14 February marked a significant event for our School as we convened at Rangakarra for our annual Pink Stumps Day fixture which was played this year against St Aidan’s Anglican Girls’ School. Many students and parents showed up to cheer on our teams and support the McGrath Foundation, which helps those affected by breast cancer. The afternoon featured pink-themed afternoon tea, a sausage sizzle, and plenty of cheering. Our cricketers displayed great effort in several closely contested games. Special recognition
