Tennis

Tennis has always been one of our biggest passions; the teamwork, spirit and camaraderie on and off court are what makes the Sport so special and unique. BGGS Tennis in 2024 has exhibited all of these things and so much more. Every girl brought their best effort to the court consistently—whether it was in matches against other schools or training—and supported each other exemplifying the BGGS sisterhood. If one phrase could sum up the 2024 BGGS Tennis season it would be: a team above all. Above all a team. The results of the season reflect the dedication and motivation of the girls with every team placing at 4th or above, and three out of the nine teams placing first. This incredible success could not have happened without the support of our coaches and wonderful coordinator, Ms Jane Martel, and we are so grateful to have had the opportunity to lead alongside her and other staff. After this experience, we can confidently say life is better on the court and wish the best to the future of Tennis at BGGS. As for the 2024 Tennis session, its officially— Game. Set. Match. Touch Football

The 2024 Touch Football season was an absolute success, filled with many hard fought games and victories across all divisions. As Captains, our main goals were to create a welcoming, supportive community throughout all teams and to score a total of 300 tries. This season, each team achieved fantastic results and displayed exceptional talent on the field. We would like to congratulate the Senior B, 10B and 7B teams for winning their respective premierships and remaining undefeated. Congratulations must also go to every Touch player for surpassing our goal—scoring 347 tries in total.

Of course, we couldn’t have done it without our lovely coordinator, Mrs Joanne Nisbett. Her dedication to the Sport and hard work behind the scenes made the season run smoothly and was crucial in our success. We have both played Touch Football at BGGS since Year 7, so it has been an honour to be Captains of a sport we are so passionate about. Witnessing the growth and development of each player was one of the most rewarding aspects of the season. From our eagerly awaited Touch team relay to seeing players encouraging other teams from the sidelines, this season was certainly one to remember.
