FATHER AND DAUGHTER DINNER
To conclude a memorable Term 2, the annual Father and Daughter Dinner was held, celebrating the wonderful relationship between Grammar girls and their fathers. The evening was full of gratitude and joy, with guests enjoying magical performances by the String Quartet and Encore Choir. A highlight of the evening was the greatly anticipated comedy debate between our senior debaters and fathers, who battled it out over the topic ‘Men Make the Best Feminists’. Despite strong opposition—including an impromptu operatic performance—our student debaters were triumphant. Ultimately, it was a special evening for fathers and daughters alike. Kate Ireland (12O)
MOTHER AND DAUGHTER DINNER The annual Mother and Daughter Dinner offered a delightful evening for mothers and daughters to come together, mingle with new acquaintances, and celebrate the strong bonds within the BGGS community. This event served as a heartfelt tribute and celebrated the efforts our mothers make for us every day. Once everyone was seated, Gillies Chamber Music Competition—Vocal winners, Iha Agrawal (11R), Lucinda Isbel (11H), and Maeve Lynch (11M), captivated the audience with their renditions of Until I Found You by Stephen Sanchez, and The Schuyler Sisters from the musical Hamilton.
As the evening unfolded, attendees had an opportunity to capture their iconic ‘Mother and Daughter photos’ against a sparkly navy backdrop, striking classic hugging poses, along with a kiss on the cheek. On behalf of the mothers and daughters of BGGS, a huge thank you must go to the organisers for ensuring that every part of this wonderful evening was a success. Ainsley Mills (10E)
Throughout the night, guests were treated to a diverse showcase of talent. The Brassberries, winners of the Gillies Chamber Music Competition—Instrumental, comprised Melissa Bucknill (12W), Sophia Caposecco (12H), Leah Diamond (12E), Alyssa Godinho (11B) and Dorothy Rae (11G), set the tone for the evening as attendees entered the hall.
