YEAR 12 50 DAYS CELEBRATION
Hosted by our Year 7 buddies, the Year 12 cohort’s 50 Days celebration took place on 25 August, Week 7 of Term 3. Parallel to the First 50 Days celebration the Year 12 cohort hosted for our Year 7 buddies, the Year 12’s Last 50 Days event sought to celebrate not only our imminent graduation from secondary school, but also our cohort’s last six years at BGGS. Accompanied by party food, music, and House-specific decorations organised by our buddies, the event was a great community occasion, enabling the Year 12 cohort to enjoy the company of their friends and buddies in a celebratory and joyous environment. Whilst the 50 Days event provided a great opportunity for celebration and anticipation as our last days at BGGS quickly approached, it also allowed space for the Year 12s to reflect on what we will miss most after graduation with the people who made our time at BGGS truly special. The Year 12 cohort would like to thank our Year 7 buddies for not only organising such a lovely commemorative event, but also for making our last year at BGGS so memorable. Emma Readdy (12L)
YEAR 7 50 DAYS CELEBRATION
On the second day of Term 2, the Year 7 cohort celebrated the completion of their first 50 days at Girls Grammar with their Year 12 buddies. During this event, the youngest and eldest students of the School were able to connect and celebrate the Year 7 cohort’s first milestone at Girls Grammar. The occasion took place on the Pool Lawn, with a picnic lunch provided by the Year 12s. The Year 7 girls were given a celebratory ribbon and certificate. There was also a decorated photo wall with a Girls Grammar blue foil backdrop, in which House group photos were taken. This event signifies the Year 7 cohort’s remarkable accomplishment of reaching 50 days here at BGGS. This event would not have been held so successfully without our Year 7 prefects organising the event, alongside the assistance of Year 7 advisors, Mrs Callie and Mrs Cross. Although the Year 7 cohort had only spent 50 days at BGGS, they had all shown enthusiastic School spirit through participating in a range of co-curricular activities including Service, Creative Arts, Sports, and Music programs. Each one of them exhibited great friendship with their peers as well as strong connections with their teachers. It was a fun afternoon filled with waves of laughter and smiles. Mia Jia (7L) and Amy Guo (12L)
