YEAR 7 MATHEMATICS

Year 7 Mathematics was challenging and interesting. At the beginning of the year, we reviewed concepts studied in primary school, before building on this work. We explored different mathematical concepts including algebra, fractions, decimals, numbers lines, problem-solving and equations, many of which will be useful in everyday life. Mathematics at Girls Grammar has been fantastic as we have been able to learn at our own pace and the teachers are very supportive, always encouraging students to try new things and do their best. Year 7 Mackay

YEAR 8 MATHEMATICS

Year 8 Mathematics has given students the opportunity to apply their maths skills in real-life situations while using problem solving and reasoning. This year, we have studied geometry, algebra, linear relationships and ratios. Each student was given the opportunity to broaden their mathematic horizons and explore a deeper understanding of the functions of this great and necessary subject. Class discussions allowed students to learn from each other and view problems from different perspectives. We have enjoyed Year 8 Mathematics and cannot wait to explore the further opportunities Mathematics at Girls Grammar has to offer. Madison Danalis (8W), Yvonne Wang (8W) and Abigail Woodcock (8W)

YEAR 9 MATHEMATICS

Year 9 Mathematics has been both challenging and enjoyable. The units are interesting and teachers push us to do our best and embrace challenges. Our favourite unit was algebra as we found the ideas extended on our current understanding of maths and could be applied in a variety of mathematical topics including finance, geometry, measurement and trigonometry. India Edwards (9G) and Madeleine Xavier (9G)
