FOOTBALL

As captains, we were extremely proud to see how inclusive each team was, and the positive environment within the broader Football community this year. To Mr Van der Ros, thank you for your organisation and coordination. Your passion for the sport and your dedication to Girls Grammar Football has resulted in another rewarding season. We also thank the coaches for their energy and ongoing support, and all members of Girls Grammar Football, for allowing us to lead an amazing group of girls. Brisbane Girls Grammar School had a successful Football season this year, with a number of great results across the board. We are extremely proud of each team’s achievements and the strong final placings indicate the hard work and commitment of each player. This year, the Intermediate team tied for the premiership, while the Open, Senior and Junior teams placed fourth in their competitions. More than 95 girls were involved in the Football Program in 2018, showing the continued growth of the sport. The School’s partnership with the Brisbane Roar FC has had a significant impact on player development and knowledge of the game through specialist coaching, match analysis and season review activities.
