GALA AS TIME GOES BY: GALA CONCERT 2015 JOSEPHINE WILSON (12L) - CHOIR On 24 October, the nineteenth annual Gala concert, As Time Goes By , was held at the University of Queensland’s UQ Centre. Gala has always been the biggest and most anticipated event on the musical calendar, and As Time Goes By did not disappoint. The girls and their conductors rehearsed tirelessly in the weeks leading up to Gala, with final preparations and sound checks on the day to ensure the smooth running of the programme. This year’s Gala celebrated the 140th year of Music at Brisbane Girls Grammar School, with performances from Symphony Orchestra, Symphonic Winds, Chamber Orchestra, Big Band, Chamber Singers, Grammar Singers, Percussion Ensemble, Massed Choir, and a performance from the outstanding Community Choir. The night was made more entertaining by compere Mr Holley as he stood in front of a mock-up of the School’s famous white picket fence.
