For me. English has been fun and rewarding for the whole year. I've enjoyed the wider reading tasks, studying poetry and making book trailers and presenting to the class. I believe that English really is the key to our learning here at BGGS and the teachers make it especially enjoyable
In English this year I loved the oral presentations in Term 2. We were provided with so much structure and help. I used to be terrified of presenting but now I know that it's not that bad once you get up and do it!

I found studying Shakes peare this term highly interesting and very helpful with developing my language. Shakes pearean language is very different from ours. I really liked figuring out all the metaphors and found it like a puzzle that you had to piece together
Learning about poetry last term was very interesting as we used poetic concepts that we had never used before For our assessment we had to write our own poem and I chose to analyse a poem about a bushranger because I found their point of view interesting. it was also interesting to see what other students came up with and the way that they incorporated their own poems into their speeches

I absolutely enjoy the wider reading tasks in English I am always looking forward to it because it means I have more opportunities to read outside the usual genres and read different books. I loved making the book trailer in Term 21 it was really enjoyable because we were able to design and create our own trailers with any software. I created one on The Hunger Games and it was absolutely awesome!
This year in English I have learnt how to persuade people better

I have greatly enjoyed the wide range of topics in English and advancing my writing and English skills. One of my favourite things was exploring the book Crow Country by Kate Constable Kate presented a speech about Crow Country. discussing how her past triggered her to write stories This helped us to discover insights into her book that we didn't know
