The successful 2012-2013 Softball season 'embraced the new'. with new teams and coaches. and 'linked the Blue' by girls forging new friendships and showing their BGGS spirit The Juniors finished an Incredible season with all seven teams placing in the top five within their competitions Of the three Year 8 teams. 8A and 8Bi placed first and 8Bii placed fifth. The season also brought two more premierships with 9A and 10B placing first in their respective competitions. Keeping In the top five. 9B finished their season in third place and 10A in fourth In the Senior division, the Opens finished a rain- affected season with four wins, one draw and only one loss, earning them equal third place. The Senior A team finished with five wins and only one loss as well. and ended the year in first place. claiming the first premiership of 2013 for BGGS This season also saw the return of many old girls as assistant coaches, as well as head coach Mr Fablen Barlow. who was the last Australian Olympic Women's Softball Coach and is currently Head Coach of the Queensland Women's Heat Softball team. The Senior A team also had the amazing experience of having two Australian representatives, Aimee Murch and Me 11nda Weaver. as their coaches. We thank all our coaches for their hard work and dedication to the BGGS Softball programme. Their passion for the game helped us to achieve our best at all times The dedication of the girls, coaches, scorers, supporters and our Softball co- ordinator Mr Martineau led to a successful and memorable season. The talent and hard work of all these people is what will help BGGS Softball grow to new levels and create the kind of amazing experiences I have had these past five seasons
Unfortunately this is the last year of Sailing at BGGS for the foreseeable future; however, the School has offered a solution to those girls who wish to continue sailing. This year's girls were an outstanding group and I couldn't have been happier as the leader of such an energetic crew - despite my being on crutches for most of the time and therefore unable to help the girls on water as much as I would have liked. I wish them all lots of luck and happiness, and encourage them to pursue, or at least to explore. the option the School is offering to continue their sailing experience.
Good luck, girls, and happy sailing!
