A1:^'T CANIP in late May. a group of Years 10,11 and 12 students participated in BGGS's first Art Camp at Marrapatta The weekend involved the students exploring and experimenting with different art forms while absorbing the scenic landscapes. The first morning involved a stroll through Marrapatta. finishing surrounded by the bush. The girls took advantage of this opportunity and created collages made from newspaper to help emulate forms in the landscape and to contrast the natural forms around them. Later that evening the girls were taken to Lake Cootharaba where they practised drawing skills using pastel chalk to represent the spirit of the landscape

stretched out before them. Along with this activity, the girls captured the landscape, using their bodies to blend into the scenery, and photographing each other. The last day involved a drawing exercise that let the girls use their own imaginations to draw what was not visible, but can still be seen through the person's own perspective. This enabled them to build on their drawing skills and venture into something more imaginative and independent The camp concluded on the Sunday afternoon when the girls ventured through the rainforest and were taken to see Andy Goldsworthy's new sculpture
It was an incredible sight and something that had to be experienced and seen to truly understand the power of the art piece The girls experienced all forms of environmental artworks and were able to become truly a part of the landscape. which isn't witnessed often. it was an extremely memorable experience and one that those involved will appreciate and be thankful for when continuing Art at Grammar
