QUT ACCOUNTING IN HIGH ^^^CHOOL^ The OUT Accounting in High Schools programme is run by the Queensland University of Technology and allows Year 12 students to complete the first-year subject of the Bachelor of Business Degree course. This course interested me because I enjoy accounting and I wanted to see if this was something that I would want to study full-time at university it also gave me a taste of what 'university life' would be like. which I really enjoyed. This year. three of us in Year 12 completed the course successfully: Randima Perera <12L), Abbey Sugrue (12W) and Ellen Dopking (120) CPIctured)

MANY FUN THINGS! YEAR 9 TUDENT

The Accounting in High Schools course is very self-directed, with students only attending university lectures six times over the period of six months: five of these lectures are with other high school students completing the programme, and one is a 'real' lecture with other university students I found this quite different to school as there is no teacher to check up on you to make sure that you are up to speed and understand everything. At first. I had trouble with time management, because I had to do all my school work as well as the extra accounting. Even though it was slightly stressful at times, I enjoyed the experience very much and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone who was interested
