We were also Involved In the UN Youth Evett Trophy Competition. which provided wonderfut experiences and enabled our members to participate in a mock UN Security Council debate with other high school students. This event required students to debate. negotiate. amend and vote on resolutions that they were given on the day. This year. SIX of our members participated in the competition. They all thoroughly enjoyed the experience and also learned a lot from It. Recently we organ!sed a combined Grammar Schools Joint Cabinet Crisis which was atso a lot of fun We are primarily an awareness-raising group within the School with members from Years 10 to 12 Generatty our meetings consist of a lunch time discussion around a worldly issue in the contemporary context Inctuding the Arab Spring. The Brisbane Girls Grammar United Nations Club alms to promote discussion about international. ethical and SOCiat issue within the global community This year, the club has been quite busy starting with a fundraiser with the Brisbane Girls Grammar School Second Chance committee to create awareness for International Womens Day 11WDl. Some of our members volunteered as helpers at the IWD breakfast held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. which provided a great opportunity to hear speeches from truly inspiring women

Newly created this year. the club has given members a chance to learn how to feet what were looking at and how to convey some type of emotion to another when viewing our pictures We've learned about aperture. depth of field. shutter speed. ISO. over exposed and under exposed images. studio lighting. portraiture. sports photography and tow lighting photography. The Di^it5FP!;6tography Crushas given me an opportunity to discover how to compose a great photograph. because you don't just take a photo. you create it. if you know what feeling you want shown in your pictures. you can create that perfect shot. its that shot that will bring happiness. sadness or anger to another By exptoring different aspects of the art of photography. whether it was through photo shoots. inter house sports carnivals or drama productions. I have been lucky to bring emotion to my photos and Imagination and present a part of my innermost thoughts through each and every shot taken

The Rhoda Fetgate Drama Club allows girls from all Year tevels to unteash their inner 'Drama Llamas' and take to the stage. At the start of this year. Fetgates welcomed both the new Year 8 student as well as Miss Johnston as the new co- ordinator The first semester began with a focus on melodrama. The girls were split into groups and encouraged to create their own short performance pieces After a lot of improvising. fun and of course hard work. the girls combined all their creative ideas and acting talent to produce the production HachiA Villain. With Miss Kathryn Tatbot 10td Girl 20081 and Miss Johnston as mentors. the producti was a huge success. inspiring the audience to find their inner her Semester 2 kicked off with a production thoughtfutIy written by MISS Tatbot. in the style of The Wizard of 02 this original script showcased the journey of three Shakes pearean heroines who we on a mission to find their way to Shakes peare's home in order to discover why their stories must end in tragedy ELENA PEDEN 111Rj
