Save the Children 15 now an internationatIy-renowned non- government organisation that alms to better the lives of children through improved education. health care and economic opportunities. as well as providing emergency aid during natural disasters. war and in other crisis situations. The Save the Children Ctub at Brisbane Girls Grammar School is now in lis third year The club 15 open to all Year levels. which helps create and foster friendships. it engages In many fundraising activities as well as promoting awareness for Issues relating to the needs of children Our members this year feel that they are very much part of a tight-knit community and everybody has contributed to our fundraising ventures with tremendous generosity and enthusiasm The first fundraiser for the year was our enormous Easter egg raffle. It was a huge success with each member bringing in two or three packets of Cadbury chocolate eggs. everybody s favourite. This amounted to more than 15 kilograms of chocolate We sold so many raffle tickets that we were able to award consolation prizes in addition to the main basket that was won by Georgia Murphy11/01 On Open Day. the Save the Children 518tt sold cookies to raise money It was decided that we would bake 'kid-shaped biscuits to remind our customers where their contribution was

going We also offered pins from the Save the Children Organisation. which proved popular Term IV's 'Bring a Smile stall' Included. among other things, ch tdhood favourites such as toffee and fairy bread The group wanted to create a fundraiser that was memorabte. and what is more memorabte than those things you loved when you were a kid?
