NIMIINWTll; The 2012 rhythmic gymnastics season has been a season to remember. The team this year had a record number of more than 80 girls compete in the aGSSSA competition on Friday 3 August and aliteams must be congratulated for their fantastic results and achievements. From the beginning of Term 11 the team. consisting of Year 85. B Grade. A Grade and Open groups and pairs using either hoop. batt or rope. pushed through early mornings and afternoon training sessions giving 110% every time On 12-13 July a hotIday training camp was held in the Sports Centre at Brisbane Girls Grammar Schoot from 9.00 am - 4.00 pm both days. The teams had the opportunity to drill their routines on the full-sized floor. participate In a ballet class. work on their performance skills. improve their flexibility and stamina. and perfect their etements one at a time The team also bonded over group games such as stuck-In-the-mud. Lunch was provided for the girls on both days with pizzas on the first day and a sausage sizzle on the second

The 2012 tennis season was full of exciting matches. fun activities. and enjoyable experiences for att Brisbane Girls Grammar Schoot tennis players This year. the tennis programme began early in Term I with the Introduction of pre-season social tennis. Held weekly. and run by the senior players, social tennis attowed players of all abilities to enjoy a game of tennis and gain some practice before the aGSSSA team trials in March More than fifty girls across all age groups competed at the team triats and Intramurat tournament in March. The individual age champions were Nina Doriatdson IBGl. Hannah Coinpton 19Ri. day. These days were extremely beneficial. as the girls not only became more closely bonded with their Individual teams. but also with the other members of the full team and entered the new term with confidence knowing the competition was not far away

This year has been outstanding for Brisbane Girls Grammar Netball. Not only did 171 students in seventeen teams represent the School this year. but they were all eager to attend training. develop their skills. demonstrate enthusiasm and show their tiretes commitment throughout the whot The rounds ended with sixteen teams finishing in the top three in each division with seven premierships. This shows the commitment by not only each netballer. but atso coaches and season

in the tead up to the final aGSSSA competition. the team participated in two practice competitions. one at Brisbane Girls Grammar on 20 July and one at More ton Bay College where the final competition was held on 27 July Both events provided the opportunity for the girls to experience being in competition situations. The girls donned their most beautiful buns and make-up. put their toe shoes and unitards on, and showed their skills off to the friends and family who came to support Each team was given feedback so that they could continue to perfect their routines and be ready for the final competition. which came along very quickly The final competition day was fantastic, the support and spirit shown by the girls was outstanding. The nerves were high. but the girls didn't show it white they performed. catching their exchanges. All teams did very well. with several teams placing in the top three. which was exceptional.
