Water Polo This year, more than 200 girls were members of the club and for the first time a fourth Uus team was entered into the competition. The talent and determulatton of all girls this season has paid off, with an impressive 11 of the 16 teams manig semi in1818. Two teams competed at the U14 State Championships. The DISA team was entered as a development side. The U14A team played exceptionally well, finish^ top of their pool after the round games and received the Silver Medal in the Grand Final. We also entered a team into the U18 State Championships for the first time. The tournament was of a very ingli standard and our team finished just out of the medals in fourth place. The new pool gave the Water Polo girls a new tratiiiiig venue and equipment which aided in their individual improvement and the development of the team as a whole. Five teams won their matches giving them a well deserved spot in the grand final. The DISAs broil^It their most outstanding and exciting game of the season to the fuials but lost to An Halows School in extra time. The U15Bs were defeated by Mt St Miehaels and the 014Ae were narrowly defeated by All Hallows' The DISAs played their rivals Noosa in a very close encounter which resulted in a 6-4 victory earning themselves the Gold Medal. The UusCs were also preiiiiers over Warriors, defeating them 5-I. Cross Country "We're a running machine, racing for 17" was our theme and it completely described the 8010 season. Tile hard work paid off on 24 May at the QGSSSA Cross Country competition at Limestone Park when we won the Cross-country Aggregate Cup for the seventeenth consecutive year! in the five years that we have been at Girls Grammar, we have been asked many times: What makes Gross country so different? How have you reinanied champions for so many years?" it is the spirit and support of the cross country coinmumty - our coaches, our parents and fellow atnetss - year after year hat ultiinately places Grammar first over the finish hale. in our opirtton this is what makes us different. When you are runting next to a girl who is wearing the same uniform, runting for the same purpose, e:coerienciiig the sane pain - you sham a special bond. in preparation for race day, head coach, Mr Pearce, gave each girl a tattoo of a blue heart to apply to her left wrist. Next to our tattoos we wore our bracelets - made at camp. Bach consisted of a number of coloured beads and two nuts, reminding us of how we each make up part of the rlum^ machine which would conquer the course on QG day. On behalf of the 8010 seniors, the past five years have been so rewarding and truly memorable. Than you to all girls, coaches, Mss Nitid, our dedicated COOTdiiiator and the wider Grosseountry community for all your support. a'acq, ,dine Loose <. 86> and Penalty An^lag <. 8B> Captains
