The fencing season has been absolutely incredible this year, with a huge increase in the number of girls participating Our hard work has paid off. as we finished second overall in the Queensland Secondary Schools Team Fixtures The Year 9.1 Team and Year 10.1 Team both won their respective divisions. with Kitty 81mpson winning the trophy for Champion Individual Fencer in the Year 10 Division. The School also entered four teams in the Queensland State School Teams Championships, with the A Team of Katherine Boys, Anna CFawford. Anne Devereaux and Kitty SImpson winning the event for Girls Grammar for the third consecutive year. The other teams finished in second, fifth and sixth positions, and as a result of this, three teams qualified for the National School Teams event in Melbourne. At this event. the A Team continued their excellent results. being undefeated throughout the competition and winning the 2010 Australian Secondary School Teams Championships Girls Grammar fencers also achieved many excellent results in representative level fencing. Anne Devereaux won the Australian U15 Women's Epee Championships, while Anna CFawford and Kitty 81mpson finished in equal third in the Australian Ul? Women's Sabre Championships. Our fencers won eight State Championships and twelve fencers have been selected to represent Queensland in Team Events at National Competitions. These results ape indicative of the high level of talent and determination demonstrated by our fencers tliroughoiit the year Thanks to all tile amazing fencers. and o111. coaches, particularly the co- ordinator MP P Oreese. for putting in top effort this year. it has paid off and been a wondePful season.

o it was great to see over 85 girls representing Girls Grammar Hockey, developing their skills, team-work and actively embracing the sport of hockey The club teams competed well this season. Despite only recording one victory, the aT2 turf team made considerable progress throughout the year. The aG3 grass team had a wonderful season, just missing out on the grand final. after losing their semi final to All Hallows. qGSSSA Hockey was once again extremely popular with good numbers in each team. The talent and determination of all girls shone through and paid off. The Year 8 team played outstandingly and was undefeated on their way to winning the premiership The Year 9 and Senior A team wore only one point behind the eventual premiers and the Year 10 and Open teams were also not far from the top of the ladder To celebrate the outstanding season. the annual end of season nookey dinner was held foi, tile first time at the School with naven RoclIe (8G) awarded the Friends of Grammar Hockey Encouragement Award Grammar Hockey has had wonderful support from the coaches. managers and parents this season. Special thanks to all of the coaches and our CO-OPdinator. MPS A Lambert. We are fortunate indeed to have a coordinator with such a passion and talent for hockey and the organisation of it.
