Forty seven gymnasts got into the swing and excitement of gymnastics as the season flew past with many memorable moments, such as our welcome breakfast, annual crazy dress day and Easter egg hunt. A practice competition was also held against St Peter's Lutheran College to help build the team's confidence. As a result we had a very cohesive and positive team prepared for the aGSSSA competition which was held at Moreton Bay College on the 16 May and 19 May. Every girl's determination and hard work paid off with everyone competing to the best of their ability. Although a few minor errors were made, we got back up in true Grammar style. The pride each girl took in encouraging their fellow team mates was unrivalled by any other school. One team was awarded the premiership in the E(i) division, comprised Sarah Mackenzie (IOH), Maddie 01ander (9E), Laura Mitchell (10E), Isabel Scalia (9B) and Georgia Bennett (9L). Another special mention must go to Carol Chang (8H), of the Grade 8(i) team, who achieved a perfect score on bars-a great accomplishment! We congratulate three of the team DJ, Badminton at Girls Grammar has achieved growing success since it was successfully introduced as a new aGSSSA sport at the School in 2007. Four girls entered the 10A Division of the competition in 2006 before it would be fully introduced in 2007. This team played above expectation and won the Division- achieving Girls Grammar's first Badminton pennant. Their success imbued the acknowledgement of Badminton as an official competitive sport at the School and as a result new equipment was purchased and courts prepared for the following year. In 2007, teams of girls from Years 8 - 12 participated in intensive training sessions under the guidance of new coach Mr Yu-aian Chau. Many girls went onto the court with no previous experience however; after three terms of hard work and intense training, all teams were very well prepared for the competition which is generally held in the Term IV. The Open and Senior A teams attained outstanding results with second and third place respectively

members who were selected to represent Queensland at the National Titles-Suzannah Chapman (10B) and Jessica Scionti (low) were selected in the Level9 team and Penelope Brooke (IOH) in the Level8 team. Special thanks to our Co- ordinator, Mrs N Robbins, and all the coaching staff who put in so much time and effort ensure the season ran smoothly. We would also like to thank the staff and student supporters. Overall the gymnasts displayed amazing talent and an enthusiastic attitude which made this season the best one yet! 4<,'^,^P^4 ^@^OF 17^/ 4MP E:^'48^^ Woolm"' 17^, ^'^'^@

This year, the Coach Mr Yu-aian Chau and the girls have returned for another season of Badminton. I was fortunate to assist with the coaching which has given me the experience to enhance my skills as I will be taking over as the Badminton Coach in 2009. Once again, the girls trained hard and developed a strong team rapport for the competition that was held at the end of October.
