The 2008 Athletics season s arted wi h a bang on 14 August at the Interhouse Ath etics Cam'val. it was a day full of co our House sp'rit and some outstanding perfo mances on he track and in the f'eld. Records tumbled-Bethany Holt (I I B) broke two Individual records in the 800 metres a d 400 metres espectively, and was a member of the 17 years Beanland 4 x 100 metres elay team that also set a record t me, and Emily Per in (8H) broke the 3000 metres record. Beanland House p oved their depth of athletic talent and took out a closely fought All Age Relay Trophy-the Bochman Cup-as well as t e Aggregate Cup The individual age champions for 2008

Interhouse Athletics were: 13 years - Emi y Perrin (8H) 14 years - Ka e Johns on (9B)

15 years - Alexandra Stevens (10M) 16 years - Isabeau W'11iams (11G) 17 years - AIShlin Greig (12B) In preparation fo aGSSSA athletics

We thank all our coaches and M M Turner for their help this year. We particularly thank Miss K Nind for her co ordination of Athletics. We acknowledge her fantastic ability to organise the girls, coaches and various meets,

the squad competed at a number of lead up mee s at The Univers'ty of Queensland n Thursday and F iday nights ' Term 111 These meets gave the squad members a taste of the coinpet tion they would be up against on 24 October. Under the careful guidance of ou various oaches, t ere was a not'ceable 'inp ovement in the girls perfo mances as the meets progressed.
