The production began in April with a number of nervous looking boys meeting a number of nervous looking girls ready to audition for the biggest production of the year. Gradually, nerves subsided as rehearsals got into full swing. Scenes were chopped and changed, studied and strengthened until finally we began to see the play coming together as a full production. This was not done without a lot of work of course with long, intense rehearsal sessions yet somehow it never seemed to stop being fun! Each and every person in the cast and crew developed strong bonds with the others and many friendships were formed that have lasted long after the final curtain came down.
Finally in August performances began with a special preview to the senior students, many of whom studied The Crucible in Year 12 English. it was a great way to start performing because the supportive crowd helped ease any nerves. The show went off with a bang and everyone was relieved to see all our hard work come to fruition. Two more performances were held for the wider Grammar community. The Creative Learning Centre provided a fantastic stage with so many versatile areas, and its sheer size and structure in the dark helped set the foreboding, cold mood of the Puritan town of Salem. Special thanks must
go to all the actors and technicians who took part in the production but most of all the cast and crew would like to give our support and gratitude to Ms K RiverOS. Her vision in this production made it an amazing experience for everyone involved.
