Some would ca I the members of the Felgate Society " exuberant ", others " crim'nal y insane "-both would be correct! This inclusive club encourages students from any year evel to participate in various dramatic activities throughout the year. 2008 started off with a bang (or should I say, a gunshot) as the club presented various melodramas; The Drunkards Dilemma, The Man in the Bowler Hat and Set a Thief to Catch a Thief. These three short plays were directed by Brittany Harrop (low), Greer Be han-Willet (I I R) and Kathryn Ta bot (12M), who found the'r roles both challenging and extremely reward'rig. The performance was a hit, eliciting many laughs from the large audience. The second semester production of original play The Death of Anya Mason, was a triumph for the cast of thirty-one' None of these performances would have eventuated without our co- ordinator, Ms S Edwards, who worked tirelessly with to ensure we were the best actors we could be.

Ten Grammar girls participated in the 2008 Brisbane Grammar School production-the classic Shakes pearian

romantic comedy, A Midsummer Night's Dream Alexandra Hahn (120), Genevieve Kennedy (I I E), Kirsten Van Oudtshoorn (12H), Lucy O'Brien (12W), Lucy Hutton (12B), Sarah Waller (12L), Daniella Markovic (120), Sophie Fenwick (12R), Jessica Peterson (I I B) and Lucy Fry (I I H) were invited to collaborate with their counterparts from Boys Grammar to create a very successful performance. To pull the production together the cast rehearsed three times a week for an entire term-as well as the school holidays. The three main themes of the play-love, loss of personal identity and ambiguous sexuality-were challenging to work with but very rewarding experiences for all the cast. The show was presented over three nights in April, and sold out for all performances. Our sincere thanks go to Mr C Patterson, Head of Drama at Brisbane Grammar School, for all his hard work with us. He was a fantastic director and everyone really enjoyed working with him. Also, our thanks and appreciation to all the backstage crew as no production can ever happen without this fantastic support.
