SPORTING HIGHLIGHTS
The 2008 aGSSSA Netball season saw a group of 164 highly motivated, energetic and enthusiastic players ready to take on all opposition. The hard training from all girls paid off with several of the 16 teams winning premierships-an amazing result for the season. The on-court improvement of players this season has been nothing short of phenomenal. Miss N SIoane organised extra skills sessions where specialist coaches trained players from different areas of the court. Other innovations such as "boxercise" and gym work improved fitness while having fun as a team. Whether teams won or lost on the day, all girls showed vast skill development, determination and spirit both on and off the netball court. However, none of these achievements would have been possible without the commitment Co- ordinator Miss N SIoane and the assistance of several coaches, all of whom have a great love for the sport. Thanks also to the many parents for their continual support. Congratulations to all players for making this season the most fun, enjoyable and challenging yet. For the teams of the future, train hard, have fun and good luck! 161WritP4 ^4^'^'I 1/2/91 4MP &?'^?i?^I^ ^4^^ 17^04 00^^'"'^

^?^ 2008 proved to be a very successful year for the Girls Grammar Rhythmic Gymnastics team. Under the new management of Head Coach Mrs N Oliver, the team learnt new skills and worked hard. The A grade and Open team had the unique opportunity to train at the Old Museum, under the experienced guidance of Mrs V Polglase-Beck and Mrs M Papas. The B grade and Grade 8 team were also fortunate enough to be inspired throughout the season by one of their coaches, Miss K Oliver, a current Senior Elite athlete, Mrs D Grigg and Mrs N Oliver. The Year 8 and B grade team competed in a practice competition at St Margaret's Anglican Girls School introducing the girls to the competition atmosphere. The girls overcame their nerves and performed beautifully showing the other schools that Girls Grammar would be a force to be reckoned with. We had another practice on Open Day for the whole team and they performed to a full house. At the aGSSSA competition the Year 8 teams overcame nerves and presented beautiful hoop routines seeing them come in a commendable third place. The B grade showed off their skills impressing the judges as they were awarded a very close . 61' .
second. Special mention must go to the two hoop teams who achieved the top two scores in their division. The hard work invested by the A grades paid off and all three groups preformed amazing Iy seeing the team win the pennant. The Open Division displayed their experience in a winning performance. Special mention must go to Johanna Bear (11 H) and Ameline Edwards-Frainey (12H) who achieved the highest score of the day, and Zarah Walker (12B) and Zoe Baker (11 L) who received the second highest score of the day. The successful season saw every girl learn new skills and achieve great results which could not have been achieved if it wasn't for the hard work of the entire team and the tireless effort of all the coaches and Mrs S Patton the Co- ordinator.
