Good friends are much like Eagles… They don’t Flock; you FInd them one at a time.

2006 has proven to be another amazingly successful and enjoyable year for England House, with exceptional achievement for individuals and for the House as a whole. The year kicked off with the legendary England House Party, a chance for those fashionably inclined (and also for those not so inclined) to sport their best blue outfits. As always, the House Party proved to be a great afternoon with everyone getting into the blue spirit, teachers included (most notably this year’s “Miss” England, MrWoods).

This year’s Open Day proved to be a success once again at the Lucky Bottle stall run by Year 11s. All funds raised at the stall were donated to Angel Flight Australia who co-ordinate non-emergency medical flights for individuals in financial need. So as the year draws to a close a special mention must go to the Year 12s. It has been an amazing final year. To the rest of the girls we sincerely wish you the best of luck. It is true what they say, “school years are the best years of your life”, and what better way to spend them than at Girls Grammar. And last but certainly not least, a special thank you must go to Ms McGarry for her unfailing encouragement and dedication to England House. Your continuous guidance has undoubtedly helped us throughout the year and has certainly made it one to remember.

Off to a spirited start after the House Party, the Interhouse Swimming rolled around where we proved that our sea of blue is indeed a force to be reckoned with. The House was loud, energised and ready to prove that we “soar above the rest”. Although we may not have taken home the cup, we undoubtedly had the most fun. At the other Interhouse events, the House continued to show its unfailing spirit and enthusiasm for all things blue. Be it on the stage or on the track, every eagle showed their support for England, determined to do their best but most importantly, to have fun.
