>-- in 2004 Grammar Swimming produced a successful and memorable season for all involved. Starting early in Term Foul; 2003, there was the promise of great things as a second coach, Mr Steven Stubbs, added a new dimension to the girls' training repertoire. Attendance was strong, with a group of enthusiastic and committed swimmers benefiting from the early training. Swimming camp was held over four days during the last week of holidays before the 2004 school year The students participated in swimming training and cross training, as well as relaxing After returning and settling Into a new year at school, the swimming squad then attacked six weeks of hard training and conditioning with commendable vigour The effort of the

girls paid off at the inter house Swimming Carnival when everyone was out to make and break records amidst the raucous atmosphere of over 1,000 brightlycoloured Grammar girls in fine form, School Swimming Champion, F10na Mackay I I I 01, again proved herself the best when she won the Open 50m Freestyle Championship in record time. The overall winner on the day was Gibson House Two weeks later the day the team had all been working toward finally arrived. Seventy girls trooped to Chandler Aquatics Centre to compete against the other aGSSSA schools Jacqueline Jeavons 11 IGj reaped the rewards of her hard training to place first in her DMsion C 50m Freestyle event. The 15 Years B Division Freestyle Relay team, consisting of Taghan Graves 110Ej, Cassandra EganjlOHj, Louise Watson 110Hj and Jessie Kleist 110Gj

are also to be congratulated on winning this event Nl swimmers competed to the best of their ability, with some of our best swimmers returning from the Queensland Schoolgirls Water Polo competition in order to swim for their School.
