the combined Brisbane Girls Grammar School/ 51uartholme Regatta providing a great start
>--- 2004 has been one of the best Rowing
seasons Girls Grammar has seen for many years' The season began in March There were superb results across all grades and when a record number of girls joined the these high levels of achievement continued for squad. Training for Years 9 to I Z began the following four regattas in the lead up to soon after followed by two Learn To Row the Head of the River Special mention must go to Brimany Winders ILj, Year 8 Single Sculler sessions at Lake Kurwongbah. These who rowed outstandingly in all her races over sessions were not just for Year 85. We the season also welcomed several novice Year 9 and Because of low water conditions at I O rowers. The camps were hard work but a good opportunity to build on Dent IL! and Hanne StoleHansen(GII were presented with the Encouragement Award at skills, and have great fun the annual dinner and the Year 9 Seconds The Regatta season began soon after with
ILEiura MCGregor IRj, An 51ey Wynne IRj, Nexandra Kleeman IRj, Claire Robinson IWj and Sarah Brandon ILjj won the new "Spirit" Award. The "Spirit" Award, in the form of an embroidered rowing shirt, 15 awarded to the crew who have proved to be outstanding in their support of other rowers. willing to assist with all tasks in the Shed, and displayed positive attitudes throughout the season Girls Grammar Rowing in 2004 has been exceptionally successful in more ways than simply results. With the largest squad in many years and the enthusiasm to match, we hope that this continues and improves in seasons to come
