The rowing camp was a stunning success and each rower who took part in this camp must be coinmended on her dedication and team spirit. The Year 85 and 95 also held a rowing camp in the last week of the holidays. This week enabled the Younger rowers to gain some experience before the start of the racing season, and helped each crew in achieving their goals For the first time ever, the BSRA racing season began with underage sculling events, with each girl participating in a sculling or a quad race. This was very exciting for all. as the Grammar girls performed brilliantly. proving once again that Grammar Rowing is a force to contend with With the start of the 2002 racing season. all crews trained twice as hard in the lead up to each regatta. The results were very pleasing, an indication of the effort and dedication the girls gave during training. The placing of many crews reflected the talent and will of the Grammar competitors, and camaraderie and team spirit were evident throughout the season The Head of the River came all too quickly for the Grammar Rowers. especially for the Year 125, who felt a little nostalgic at the prospect of their last ever 'Head! However. the nerves and anticipation of the race soon dulled this feeling. Each crew performed exceptionally well, with many exciting races offering the Grammar crowd something to cheer. Each grade powered through to create an extremely memorable Head of the River. With an overall placing of fourth for 2002. spirits were high and the cheers loud as the girls made their way back to the shed for the last cleanup for the season. With the results from the past six months showing an ever increasing and Improving rowing squad, the future of Grammar Rowing looks very bright indeed
