Written and presented by Amelia Taylor at the Annual Softball Breakfast at the She raton, the following poem summarizes the Open softball team perfectly
A new coach, a new season, nine games to play; At the start of the season. Judy had a few things to say Geordie. our captain, and a great one at that. She loved to dance when we were swinging a bat She's played with Milly for the whole five Years There've been a few injuries. and, oh God, the tears Geord's had Katie, too. She's 00 longer the smallest But she'll always be "Little Red" even when she's the tallest Erin and her knees have been with us everyday What more can be said for our faithful Sally When spirit was down, the gameless girl was there to rally Anna and Kate whichever is which - They're attached at the hip until Kate has to pitch No matter the score. we remember Chucky's smile When she hit the ball and her shoes ran a mile We won't forget Julie. She was a fantastic first base, Until she hurt her ankle and left us with an interesting case Last but not least, Gem kept our spirits high She's so funny at training, she made Kate and KitbY cry Kirby's our machine. what more can be said? She always comes to training very well fed To start we didn't know who could play

So we finished the season with thanks to You all And we say our goodbyes to Grammar softball
Another highlight of the season was the huge support group from parents, teachers and students alike. Over the season we had regular support from a small crew of Year 12 girls and teachers, including Mrs Wain, Mr Seaha, members of the H. P. E. staff, and Mrs Bell. Ever-present, as they have been for the past twenty-five Years, were Mrs Harvey-Short, Co- ordinator of Softball and Mrs Cooke, scorer Our final game against Clayfield College saw a crowd of 30 girls and 20 teachers, as well as the unwavering support of the players' parents - unheard of at a aGSSSA softball match! This encapsulates the "blue" spirit and enthusiasm of players and supporters alike
