Ode to a new day Oh, what a day to be alive,

When sun is warm and skies are clea, When flowers bloom in colours bright And shadows, dancing, greet the light - Oh, what a day for which to strive, When trees are green and friends are near, When sweet scents waft through windows wide And breathe life on all things inside - Yes, what a day to be alive!

Oh, what a great and glorious time, To love and live to touch and hold, To takejoy in the things we see - Delight in what we hope will be - Oh what an innocent, simple crime, To be for freedom all too bold, To idly wande, wonder and To love all things within the land - Yes, what a great and glorious time! Oh, what a sweet release to know, To free oneself from work and pain, To watch the clouds that float on high Above the sparkling, sapphire sky -

Oh, what a time for lying low, Escaping teachers yet again, To frolic amidst fields of green

Where countless others may be seen - Therein that sweet release to know!

Oh, that I could spend my days, As freely as the fickle breeze, For when all is said and done

To follow life is much more fun - Oh, than to walk an endless maze, Of times and trials, endless seas - To view a sunrise, sunset too - To dream and have my dreams come true - Oh, that kindly time would lend Me years so life will never end That is how 16 spend my days Oh, what a day to be alive, To live each day, complete and whole, To greet each sunrise with a smile - To want an inch and earn a mile - That's what it is to be alive
