Netball

proved to be a highly spirited and enthusiastic bunch, with their hard work reflected in outstanding results The 8B and 8C teams were undefeated premiers, and the 8A and 8Cii teams played exceptionally well to round off an excellent season Players to look out for in the future inc ude Ellen Thornpson, Shona Gray, Carly A1biez, Fiona Bauer, Shona Wills. Clare Murray, Annabel Humphreys and Palge Berrell premierships in the 9A, 9B and 9C divisions. The 9Cii team also had a strong season to place second All girls improved their skills throughout the season CUIminating in highly successful and well-deserved results. All girls should be coinmended for these achievements Clare North, Elyse Chant, Katherine Davis, Sarah O'Grady, Laura CTaig, Madeline Hart and Angela Harling displayed exceptional levels of talent and agility during fixtures The three Year 10 teams showed fitness and flair on the courts throughout the season. The IOCS were a determined and spirited team. which helped them secure first place in their division. The 10A and 10B teams were also competitive in the QG competition, placing second and fourth. Louise Waldie, Emily Sandstrom, Shannon 0'5ullivan and Grace Leeming from the Year 10 teams put in strong performances throughout the year The Year 9 teams played outstandingly to take out

2001 has proved to be another enjoyable and successful year for Grammar netballers. From pre-season trials to mid-season trainings and games, all girls displayed fitness, spirit, commitment and talent, as they took to the courts in the familiar blue and white uniform The start of fixtures on the first weekend in Term Three was signalled by the annual netball breakfast For the first time, with 150 players selected in fifteen teams, netballis the largest sport played at GrammaL proving the depth of dentin the girls who took to the court each week 2001 also saw the introduction of additional8Cii and 9Cii teams into the QG competition, giving more girls an opportunity to play for the school The netball barbecue, a new event on the season's calenda"was also held at the beginning of the season. providing another opportunity for the girls to build spirit and camaraderie as an overall sporting team before facing the opposition in the following weeks The QGSSSA competition in Term Three was the opportunity for all players to demonstrate skills, fitness and ability praaised at training All Grammar teams performed exceedingly well in this competition, all g'rls proving their talent and sportsmanship Strong performances by all the Junior teams Indicate that Grammar netball has a bright future.
