APPRECIATING THE ARTS

Did you ever wonder how you could tap into the Arts at Brisbane Girls Grammar? The school curriculum provides many opportunities for students to explore their creative natures through Art, Drama and Music courses, while film is enjoyed through English studies. In addition there are opportunities for students not necessarily enrolled in the program to have an Arts experience. This year all Year 85 were involved in a poster making activity and, in Term FourYear 10s all had the satisfying feeling of clay under their fingernails Clubs such as Art, Drama, Theatredance and Cinebuffs provide after school opportunities for further involvement. From the comfort of their own home, or in school, students (and parents) can access the Arts on-line. People can catch up on course work, locate a task sheet, look at student art or listen to student music. Links to the wider Arts world are made through excursions to the Art Gallery, field trips, theatre visits and concerts. Guests from the community also come to the school to share their knowledge.
