Throughout the evening interludes of Shakes peareanletters and poems were presented by Mrs Particia Rhodes and Ms Christme Cabin. The BGGS Recorder Consort and Recorder Ensemble, led by Ms Bathara Chaffe, presented a fine selection of Renaissance items, and their combined talent added jinmeas- urably to the atmosphere of the evening

he Shakes peare Guild met regularly throughout the year, sharing in a range of activities, including viewing of films, readings from, and discussion of, a range of Shake- spearean plays, and even the screenprinting of our tee shirts, with OUT pun motif of "Will Power", of which we are sure that the Bard himself would have approved
As well as performances from original works, light relief was provided by Me lissa Chambers, Kale del Mar, Lucy Came, Tony Bean, Cecilia Bouohen and Milch Ryan, in a combined BGS- BGGS performance of the satirical and witty spoof, A Midst, in- merNjgbtm@re. Mrs HeIen Geraghty, Mrs Patricia Rhodes, and Mrs Lana Hadgraft performed Act IV, Scene I, from Macbeth, in a postmodern interpretation of the witches' cauldron scene, that was as inventive as it was hilarious. The Baz Luhrmann interpretation of Romeo and/unet was also somewhat ITrever- Gritly revisited by Mr A1an Dale, as a tremulous Juliet, and Mrs Robyn Golwill, as a Romeo who poses little threat to Leonardo
One of our members, Kale del Mar, won the Queensland Division of the Shakes peare Globe Competition finals, held at the Brisbane Arts Theatre on Monday, 3 August, with her performance from Act I, Scene v, and Act Three, Scene i, of Truertb Night. Kale will compete in the National Finals of the Competition to be held in Canberra in September The culmination of
