proof of our school motto: "Nil sine labore ". We thank them for all the sup- port they've offered us as Head Girls and all the hard work they sowillingly and cease- lessly undertake every year for the benefit of eve1y student. We also want to thank Miss Gilmour and Miss Smith for their help ... we would have lost ourselves somewhere along the lines with- out their constant re- minders of dates, names, places and functions coming up! On a personal level, we 'd like to thank everyone for

we 'd also like to thank all those hard-working people behind the scenes. Special thanks go to Rosanne Barrett (12W), Kellie Shaw (120), Mr Emerson, Mr Clarke, Mrs Davies, Mr Capper, Mrs Boughen and Mr Dale for all their help in making the night the success it was . Although the year has had its highs, it unfortunately has also had its lows. 1997 brought with it the ve1y tragic loss of our former Chairman of the Board of Trustees , Dr Mccrae Grassie. It was with great sadness, yet with great honour, that the service for Dr Grassie was held at our school. Dr Grassie contributed so much to what Girls Grammar has become today and we are privileged to have the McCrae Grassie Sports Centre named in his honour as a permanent memorial to him. In May the decision was taken, after great deliberation and with regret, to close the Boarding House by the year 2003. While we recognise the rationale behind the decision, we know eve1yone will dearly miss this part of our school life . Finally, an infinitely big THANK YOU to Mrs Hancock, Miss Williams, Mr Dale, Mrs Lynch, and Miss Hatton, who are living

helping to make this the most amazing year we've ever had. The spirit of Girls Grammar has become an important part of us and something we'll miss feeling on a day-to-day basis, but we know Grammar's spirit will always be with us . Lastly, we'll miss seeing the Year Twelves with whom we've shared the past five years of our life. We hope the friendships we 've made will continue to develop even when our school days are over. Good luck for the future, and always remember to make the most of eve1ything: ''Life is not a dress rehearsal"
