Throughout the year the craft group has worked consistently with results of their efforts being on the well-stocked craft stall on the Card and Games Day and Open Day. Many members of the wider school community joined us on Open Day in support of our cake stall. Our final craft effort for the year was the Christmas Stall for students and staff in November. I take this opportunity to thank the many kind parents and grandparents, who throughout the year, donated items for our stalls. We are extremely proud of the magnificent stained-glass window that has been installed at the entrance of the Libra1y. This window was designed by talented Art teacher Jennifer Andrews, with the crafting and construction by accomplished leadlight artist Warwick Blair. The 1996 <;ommittee of Mothers' Group provided the funds for this window. We have also been able to provide five sets of tables and chairs for the recently refurbished locker area under the Bain building. As well as this, new shade umbrellas have been purchased for the tennis court area. For committee members, these items act as a material reminder of their hard work. However the satisfaction of seeing these results is due to the teamwork which makes the most of all levels of talent and skill within our group. Also the friendships forged along the way make the effort worthwhile. We hope the committee's endeavours will help impa1t the importance of these values to our daughters. November brought a busy conclusion to our year with the annual general meeting, as well as Mrs Hancock's morning tea for the departing Year Twelve Mothers and our end of year morning tea at the Tattersalls Club.
We wish to thank Mrs Hancock for the time, effort and encouragement she gives to Mothers' Group. In addition to the support we receive from the wider school community, we are also grateful to the school staff whose invaluable assistance we rely upon so often. In conclusion I would like to thank the hard working members of the 1997 committee as well as other members who have helped throughout the year. JAN DAVIES PRESIDENT

The Dinner was held at Petrie Mansions Restaurant in August. Our Guest Speaker, Jennifer Maraohasy (nee Tumour

Jennifer was Boarding House Captain, represented the School in hockey, rowing, debating and ran the 200 m at QGSSSA. She completed a Sci- ence degree majoring in Ento- mology from the University of Queensland and worked for the Queensland Department of Lands for twelve years. During this time she was posted to Madagascar and Kenya to undertake entomological re-

Memora- bilia is available for purchase throughout the year from the school office , the clothing shop or by contacting us.
