In recognition of her contribution· to agriculture in Queensland she was awarded the Cattlemen's Union Research Medal in 1991 , and last year was the SE Queensland winner of the ABC Rural Woman of ~he Year. She is now Environment Manager with the Queensland Sugar Industiy and has almost finished her PhD in the area of "Risk Assessment and Biological Control". Jennifer is married with a daughter, Caroline, who will start at BGGS in 2002. Her speech was an interesting blend of anecdotes from experiences in Madagascar, factors impacting upon career decision-making for women, gender issues in the agricultural indust1y, school network, and family. Registered Nurse Ma1y-Jane Hunter ('92) is this year's Greenslopes Hospital and Coorparoo RSL Girl in a Million Nominee. Ma1y-Jane hopes that her fund-raising will provide an opportunity for youth to show they care for those less fortunate rhan themselves. On behalf of all Old Girls, the Committee communicated our thoughts to Mrs Grassie on the loss of her husband, Dr McCrae Grassie .
