T his year has been quieter for Cinebuffs, but screenings for enjoyment and discussion and video technique in- services were offered on a regular basis to busy students with demanding schedules. Emphasis has been on Australian product, and the students are now more aware of the formidable Australian presence in film-making , and the high profile of women in the indust1y in particular. Our highlight of the year was the acquisition of a digital editing suite. This innovative technology was possible through the combined initiatives of Mrs Hancock and the Board of Trustees. Their generous offer to match funds raised by Cinebuff members enabled us to purchase a suite capable of sophisti- cated video product. It will allow creative production for video buffs, and provide a practical resource for students wishing to work in an alternate learning mode . JOHN ROWELL
