As butterflies chirped gaily in the breeze. the Detachable Earrings continued improvising their way 10 gaining a place in the Grand Final of the World Series International, (Private), Brisbane, High School Students only, Theatres ports Competition (sponsored by Fuji film) at the Southbank Parkland's own Kodak Beach Darkness crept along the sky and came to Test for the evening. as the sun stopped shining (it was 110 longer spon- sored by the South East Queensland Electricity Board) so too did the Detachable Earrings. Alas, Claire Addelsee, Hclen Christirison, Am anda Lane, Janelle Patel and Manon Louise Woodhead. the members of the Detachable Earrings. were placed fifth overall. 11 was probably well and truly, iridis- putably. undeniably past their bed lime anyway and their pal'- Grits wanted them 10 find their missing detachable earrings before they went nome from the World Series international. "We are the Paradise Beach Acting School" (from Warner Brothers Movie World), they cried altogether, individually, solo, in unison, one at a time, as they left the stage. The audience clapped and cheered, some even took photographs (with Fuji film) as Eva Feredoes, Meg (Margaret) Hadgraft, Teresa Ienner, Tanya Korknobel, Vicki Muller and Vicki Rice fin- ished introducing themselves to the World Series
