The B. W. H. A. HOCKEY season commenced in April with Grammar entering three teams (A, B and Under 17B) Although these teams were unsuccessful in reaching the semi finals, this experience proved to be valuable in the develop- merit of team cohesion and individual skills. The Club season provides an opportunity for those who miss out on Q. G. S. S. S. A. teams to compete for the school and acts as an important feeder competition for these teams. The U17B, once again, entered the junior competition gaining valuable experience for the years to come and were ably led by Bianca Thies. The RHYTHMIC SPORTIVE GYMNASTICS CLUB is comprised of present, past and future students, making an enthusiastic group of gymnasts. Regular Thursday and Saturday training sessions cater for a range of talent from Level I 107 This year, the sport has taken a new approach to levels and competition which saw thirty-two girls compete in the firsi Annual National Club Titles in Adelaide. The trip was an enormous success with B. G. G. S. being named the Number One Club in Australia in the display section.

Two crews continued training after the Head of the River and competed in the State Championships in Rockhampion on Saturday, 18 September. The U161st IV came fourth in the final and Michelle Rigg and ISObel Royston came second in their pair. The Vlll won the final race of the day with a nine second margin to second place making them the Stale Schoolgirl Champion Vin for 1993 JO Larsen extended her rowing success early in the year when she Towed in an U17 crew at the National Titles at Lake Wivenhoe in April. The sport continues to grow in the school and with the taste of success experienced by OUT rowers and the enthusiasm of the coaches, great things are yet to come. The CRICKET season commenced with what must be a record number of new players for the school. The increasing popularity of the sport at Grammar is indicative of the current Queensland Women's Cricket Association slogan "Women's Cricket is Catching On". Despite incredible enthusiasm, dedi- cation and much improvement throughout the first half of the season, the two Grammar teams experienced many losses The First XI, consisting of girls with both experience and ability, succeeded in winning only one match in the first half of the season. Georgina Adams (Year 9) had the best bowling figures and Alexandra Farmer (Yeai' 8) batted extremely well throughout the term. Vanessa Granger's (Year 10) balling results placed her among the lop scorers in the competition. The Second XI, failing to win any matches, also improved significantly with experienced players like Kathryn Reld, Anna Brimrose, Vicki Rice and Michelle Harvey leading the way. Despite disappointing results in the Q. S. C. A. competition, the individual achievements of Grammar cricketers demonstrate the extensive talent contained in the teams. Melissa Trentin (Open), Anionia Conomos and Vanessa Granger (U15) were selected in Brisbane Schoolgirl teams. Vanessa and Anionia were also invited to participate in a training camp for the New Emerging Players Squad, from which Queensland repre- sentative teams are selected. The substantial improvements in both teams and the recognition of individual talent suggest great promise for the future of Grammar Cricket
